"You don't experience life… you experience the life you focus on."— Tony Robbins
Your wonderful creative ability is already being used. Each and every waking moment, you're actively conditioning the mind and the body. Your attention is the most powerful tool you have at your disposal. At any time, you may direct it as you so choose.
What do you think about most often?
We have all been gifted with the ability to direct our attention towards the things we love or the things we fear. The more you focus on something, the easier and more prevalent it becomes. This is one of our core philosophies.
Think about something you've learned to do. No matter what area of life it was in, the concept holds true: the more you do something, the easier it becomes. Many times, through repetition, we find ourselves not applying value to something we once held dear. The easier something gets, the easier it can be to forget its significance.
This is why gratitude is such a great practice. You will always find what you're looking for. The same goes for our complaints and disputes.
The entertainment industry and the digital age have influenced people to put their attention towards a facade — a false identity. What you see on social media, film, and even in music is many times a character, built to LOOK like everything is perfect.
Think of a movie set. It's created to convey an emotion. One scene is made up of multiple — even hundreds — of takes to get it right. In all honesty, it's just people goofing around on set until they achieve their desired emotion.
If we're not aware of their process, these outlets can make us feel like we can never reach the level of that actor or that musician. But note: the only limitations you have are those set on you by your own mind. For what you believe, will be.
Remember, these individuals are just that… people. Just like you.
We're all just people learning, wanting to do our best, and expand into who we were meant to be. We're all looking for a purpose, something to connect to, something to do. But there is no RIGHT answer. The tech age has pushed us to think there's a right way to do something, or that we're lacking something.
"YOU MUST USE THIS NEW TOOL. EVERYONE ELSE ALREADY IS!!" — another clickbait ass title
Notice that just the thought that you are in lack will bring about the feeling of it.
Some mantras we use:
- "I have all that I desire and require."
- "I am at the perfect place, in the perfect moment, for the perfect reason."
- "It's a great day to be me."
Emotion is a greater force than the words themselves — speaking with conviction is key.
Since we get to choose what we say — which then informs the body and mind about our state of being — I choose words of empowerment and gratitude.
The goal here is to find the value within yourself and also within others… not inflate the ego. Use your instincts from the gut and heart. Intuition.
This is a glimpse into your creative ability and the power of your words. You may not always feel in control of your thoughts — but you ALWAYS have the choice of where to put your attention, and ultimately what you say.
Stay wonderful, you creative Soul.
